My Journey So Far

I'm Sachin Teng 鄧十晴, a Taiwanese American 臺裔 artist living and working in New York City, where I was born and raised.

I've created work for hundreds of companies and clients in different industries, and I've moved 7 times in the last 10 years. You go wherever the work is.

I attended Pratt Institute for Communication Design with a focus on Illustration. Communication Design is an interesting term of art that has informed how I understand and make art ever since. Art is a visual language. Every artist crafts a voice of their own and builds their own vocabulary.

I've built a career using my craft to communicate stories and ideas, dreams and nightmares for all sorts of clients and customers. A restless translator helping people codify their ideas into art for over a decade.

But a decade is a long time. Today I'm just a human artist in an AI landscape. In my lifetime I've seen pixels replace paint and ink, polygons replace puppets and clay. Both claimed to be the death knell of artists. Soon to be obsolete.

And yet artists are still here. And so am I.
